one dress, all seasons

I'm a  multi-tasker and love when my clothes can do the same. This dress could win the gold medal of mulit- tasking, taking me through the seasons (or a week of weather in Texas). The key to a great piece with versatility is classic lines like this patterned shift dress. Let's break down how to take this dress from fall to spring and back again.

Falling for Layers

A light weight chambray button up and suede booties are perfect when the first chill brings in the fall. Tights in a color similar to the booties gives you that long, lean look (plus it's a perfect way to introduce that slightly intimidating trend- booties). A thin belt in chartreuse defines the waist and pulls this look together.

Winter Forecast

Winter weather in Texas calls for layers. This fossil shift dress is winter ready with the addition of my favorite chunky grandpa sweater, teal tights, tall leather boots and belt. A light-weight scarf adds another pop of color.

Here comes the Sun

Sun, glorious sun! In Texas, the days between bitter winter winds and blistering summer heat are few in number. This chameleon of a dress enjoys those blissful spring days with few adornments - barely there sandals, sunglasses, freshly painted toes, and a hint of a tan. What's your favorite versatile piece? Leave a comment or send me a pic.
